Why see a Naturopath in Burlington?
Our NEX Wellness naturopaths in Burlington offer a comprehensive approach to health care for you and your family.
If you have not seen a naturopath in Burlington before, you may have many questions about the type of care you will receive, what kinds of conditions can be treated by naturopathic medicine, as well as the qualifications of a naturopath in the city of Burlington.
Naturopaths combine the healing wisdom found in nature with the rigorous scientific approach of modern medicine. They focus on the whole person — mind, body, spirit and environment — with the goals of proactive prevention, and treating the root cause of illness rather than simply addressing the symptoms. Naturopaths treat all medical conditions and work with individuals and families of all ages and stages, with a focus on lifestyle changes to help empower the patient to heal. The tools that a naturopath uses include: comprehensive understanding of health history, laboratory assessments, clinical nutrition, lifestyle counselling, and natural medicines including nutritional supplements, herbs and homeopathic remedies.
Naturopathic medicine is ideal for you if:
- You are looking to prevent disease and optimize wellness
- You are experiencing symptoms that your conventional medical practitioners have not been able to diagnose and/or resolve effectively — examples of this include hormone imbalances and digestive issues
- You have been diagnosed with a chronic illness and are looking for complementary, natural methods to support the body’s natural healing capability
- You would like to combine conventional and natural approaches to minimize the side effects of drugs, surgery, or pharmaceutical interventions
Naturopathic medicine is fully recognized and regulated as a health profession in the province of Ontario. A naturopath has completed four years of pre-medical undergraduate training, followed by four additional years of naturopathic medical training at an accredited naturopathic college (there are 7 across North America), leading to the completion of licensing exams before being able to practice. While OHIP does not currently cover naturopathic services, most extended health insurance plans do cover visits to licensed naturopathic doctors.

The short moods, the blaring lights, the pumpkin that has become our tummy, that oily hair (never mind that we just washed it) it’s no wonder we’re sleepless, cranky,
